October 3, 2017
From September 28 to October 1, 2017, approximately 60 leaders representing college access and success programs from across the United States assembled at Princeton University to participate in the Council for Opportunity in Education's first Executive Leadership Institute for College Opportunity Professionals. This event occurred in conjunction with Princeton's own symposium entitled, "Partnership Matters: College Access, Success and Beyond." The four-day event included a variety of workshops designed to foster increased collaboration between college access and success professionals and strengthen participants’ leadership skills within their respective institutions. Workshop topics included "Partnerships to Expand Access and Success," "Crucial Conversations," "Team Building as the Nexus of Leadership," and "Knowing Yourself, Leading Others."
Princeton was the ideal site for such a convening as the University was one of the original host sites the Upward Bound program in 1964.
