Keith Sherin Global Leaders Experience Language and Cultural Immersion in Salamanca, Spain

The 2017 Keith Sherin Global Leaders spent the month of June taking Spanish language classes, visiting cities and sites in Spain, and navigating their host culture. During their program in Salamanca, which was co-sponsored by the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) and Travel & Education, the 15 TRIO college students attended courses offered by the University of Salamanca and engaged in various cultural activities, including visits to Madrid and the medieval cities of Segovia and Avila. They also met other international students from around the globe. Many of the students lived with host families during their four-week stay. They were escorted by COE group leaders and former Board Members Evelyn Rivera-Torres and Jorge Martinez Santiago.
