Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Celebrates First-Generation Students

October 10, 2017

The Student Support Services and Talent Search programs at Dabney S. Lancaster Community College in Clifton Forge, Virginia are joining forces with the Office of the President to highlight faculty, staff, and students who are first-generation on campus through special banners and buttons. They will also establish a "first generation registry" to provide a resource for students seeking mentors and advisors among the campus leadership. This event will also coincide with the grand opening of a food pantry on campus as hunger is an issue that often touches low-income, first-generation college-goers.

How will your institution celebrate first-generation students on November 8? Please share your plans with us via e-mail or through social media using the hashtag #celebratefirstgen on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
