Is Your Institution a "Student-Ready College"?

November 7, 2016

One of the highlights of COE's 2016 Annual Conference in San Diego was the Closing Plenary session, which featured Tia McNair, Vice President of the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Success at the Association of American Colleges and Universities. During her session, Dr. McNair highlighted strategies outlined in the new book, Becoming a Student-Ready College, which she co-authored. This text flips the college success conversation on its head by substituting the question, "Are students college ready?" with an investigation into how institutions must change their policies, practices, and culture in order to ensure student success. As a follow-up to the overwhelming response of the college access and success to Dr. McNair session at our conference, COE is pleased to announce that it will host a Twitter chat on Thursday, November 17, at 12:00 p.m. (Eastern) featuring Dr. McNair to dig deeper into the themes raised in the book. This is one Twitter chat that college access and success practitioners don't want to miss! Follow us at (@coetalk) and use the hashtag #studentready to participate!
