John Hernandez serves as the Vice President of Technology at the Council for Opportunity in Education, managing and maintaining information technology systems supporting the strategic goals and mission of the Council, including data, voice, email, computer, internal network, and externally hosted cloud-based systems. Before arriving at the Council in December 1996, he worked as an Office Manager and Computer Specialist at NRI, supporting transition programs for employees leaving the federal government workforce. Before this, he held various worldwide leadership, strategic communications, and operational positions in the United States Army, culminating in 26 years of service as a Command Sergeant Major. He holds an Associate of Science Degree and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.
