Woodrow Lewis Jr. is the Director of College Initiatives at the Council for Opportunity in Education in the Programs and Professional Development division.  He coordinates and facilitates in-person and virtual professional development for TRIO personnel supporting college students in this role.  He also supports TRIO personnel on multiple levels while advocating for increased support for TRIO-eligible students.  Dr. Lewis works collaboratively with NASPA, NACADA, and other professional organizations supporting post-secondary students’ needs to increase inter-organizational collaboration and enhance professional development opportunities.  Dr. Lewis has over twenty years of experience in higher education and has held numerous roles, including Associate Dean of Students, Title IX investigator, Student Support Services (SSS) Director, Financial Aid Administrator, Scholarship Coordinator, and contingent faculty member.  He served in leadership roles with multiple professional organizations, including the Association for Equality and Excellence in Education, the New Jersey Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators, and the Council for Opportunity in Education.  Dr. Lewis holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, a Master of Arts in Psychology, and a Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Maryville University.
