March 18, 2019
On March 16, 2019, Darylen Cote, Upward Bound Director at the University of Maine at Presque Isle was inducted into the Maine Women’s Hall of Fame. Cote — who has been with the TRIO program since 2004 — has been described as a tireless champion for women’s health, equality, and education.
The other inductee for 2019 is Maine Governor Janet T. Mills. Mills was Maine’s first female Attorney General and was elected as Maine’s first female Governor this past January.
Inductees into the Maine Women’s Hall of Fame are selected based on the enduring impact that they have had on women across the state.
