Minnesota TRIO Leaders Advocate before State Legislature

Recently, several TRIO leaders spoke before the Minnesota House of Representatives in support of bill 2500. Authored by House Minority Leader Paul Thissen (61B-DFL), this bill proposes to provide $5 million in supplemental monies for Student Support Services grants at institutions across the state. Shelly Siegel, Director of the Student Support Services program at North Hennepin Community College along with one of her students, Basil Ajuo, and Andrew Cseter, Director of TRIO Programs at Metropolitan State University offered testimony alongside Leader Thissen to urge legislators to support this effort.
