We Give Back — at COE's 35th Annual Conference

August 19, 2016

Giving back to our host city has become an annual tradition for COE's Annual Conference attendees and exhibitors. The 2016 COE Conference Planning Team has chosen to collect items for Youth and Leaders Living Actively (YALLA) as the service project for this year's conference.

YALLA is on a mission to remove the social and economic barriers that confront refugee and immigrant youth. YALLA combines the promise of education and the passion of soccer to inspire refugee and immigrant youth to achieve a college education. Since 2010, YALLA has served more than 1,200 youth, ages 7-18, resulting in better school attendance, academic achievement, and literacy scores as compared to their refugee peers. In the past two years, YALLA's college-bound seniors earned $2.4 million in College Scholarships and gained acceptance into four-year universities, two as Gates Millennium Scholars. Despite war, poverty, social, and language barriers, YALLA students will go to college.

COE is asking that all professionals take a few minutes to donate to this excellent organization. You can do this by DONATING NOW! WE GIVE BACK will have a booth at the COE conference. We ask everyone who donated to stop by the booth and create a small message to the YALLA students.

Giving back to our host city..... COE helping local kids..... A great partnership!
