The Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) announced today that it has named Jennifer Wider as its Vice President for Advancement and Chief Development Officer.
In this role she will be a member of the senior leadership team and have overall responsibility for leading the development function for the Council, which seeks to advance opportunities for low-income and first-generation students to enroll and graduate from college, particularly those served by the Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO).
Wider has generated significant support in corporate, foundation, and government funding for initiatives in a broad range of areas including education, research, capacity building, economic and workforce development, technology, health, justice, and entrepreneurship.
She previously led development at educational organizations such as UNCF and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund in addition to serving as a strategic advisor to numerous corporate and philanthropic entities.
“Jennifer’s experience and shared passion for eliminating the gap in educational attainment between America’s highest and lowest income students make her a tremendous asset to our team,” said COE President and CEO Maureen Hoyler.
